He is a Chartered Surveyor, a Chartered Valuation Surveyor, a Chartered Building Surveyor, a Corporate Town Planning Surveyor, a Chartered Architectural Technologist, a Chartered Builder and a Chartered Construction Manager. He is also an RICS Registered Valuer. He holds the Certificate of Expert Witness Accreditation from Cardiff University Law School. He is also an RICS Accredited Expert Witness. He is a Founding Member of The Expert Witness Institute and also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Centre for Accessible Environments, the Limbless Association, the Spinal Injuries Association and Headway, The Brain Injury Association. For over 40 years, Steven has specialised in designing schemes for the adaptation of homes to suit the needs of disabled individuals. He also designs new purpose-built properties. Steven accepts instructions to prepare reports for Claimants and Defendants and also on a Single Joint Expert basis. Steven has produced over 3,500 forensic reports for the High Court and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. He has been professionally trained by Bond Solon on the whole range of Expert Witness related courses. Each report is individually researched and carefully produced to cover present and future accommodation needs. Adaptations and extensions are designed to reflect the specific requirements of the individual. The residential property market is regularly monitored and properties prudently assessed and valued. Costs on purchase, rental, maintenance, running expenditure and eventual reinstatement are individually calculated. Steven gives talks to Solicitors, Barristers, Insurance Claims Managers, Loss Adjusters, Accountants, Actuaries, Case Managers, Care Consultants, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of your work?

“Assisting instructing solicitors and ultimately the Court by providing reports covering all relevant aspects and within deadlines. Constantly updating knowledge and striving for perfection.”

What do you enjoy away from the office?

Steven likes good food and wine, particularly when socialising with friends. He regularly trains in the gym, walks his dogs, helps with his wife’s horses and retains an interest in football and martial arts. He also enjoys holidays abroad and in the UK.
