Having joined Steven Docker Associates in November 2024, Karen’s role as Personal Assistant involves a significant amount of confidentiality and discretion. Especially when liaising with clients, instructing Solicitors and Barristers, scheduling home visits, conferences, and trials.

In addition to this, Karen is responsible for preparing key documents to assist our Expert Witness team. She does this by gathering all of the relevant property details as well as the cost information for specialist equipment that allows for accessible living.

Having initially qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 1997, Karen brings a wealth of legal experience to her role. Working for over 20 years in personal injury litigation, Karen has worked as a litigator in road traffic accidents, employers and public liability cases. At the beginning of her legal career, Karen represented defendant insurers in various litigated cases before switching to claimant work.

Following her time in law, Karen changed her career path and began working for a well-known Cheshire estate agent. This change in vocation saw her gain key experience in a different field as she worked closely with the branch manager to help vendors with the purchasing and sale of their homes.

Prior to joining Steven Docker Associates, she also worked for a local GP surgery in safeguarding and proactive care. Through a blend of working in law, property and healthcare, Karen brings an unrivalled amount of expertise to her role. Karen is incredibly proactive, a major team player and very supportive in ensuring our Expert Witnesses meet the court deadlines required in each case.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your work?

Helping clients achieve their best living accommodation in extremely difficult and life changing circumstances.

What do you enjoy doing away from the office?

I love my dogs! I have a Beagle and 3 Biewer Terriers and like nothing more than getting out into the Cheshire countryside with my partner for long walks. I enjoy outings to the theatre and concerts and am a huge fan of Andrea Bocelli, who I have seen both in New York and Tuscany. I really enjoy fine dining and wine experiences too!
