About Alex Jones
Alex has over 25 years’ experience in mainstream architecture before joining Steven Docker Associates in 2008. He has since developed extensive experience in dealing with clients who have, in many instances, suffered catastrophic injuries through road traffic accidents and hospital clinical negligence. He is passionate about tailoring architectural solutions with creativity to enable our clients and their loved ones. Alex’s main role with SDA is the design and project management of building projects up to circa £1M, which have been specifically designed to suit the needs of disabled individuals.
During Alex’s time with SDA he has gained a wide range of knowledge on client’s specific accommodation requirements, based around their particular circumstances, and has designed many projects, including adaptations and extensions to existing properties as well as new build homes. He has also been directly involved with many specialist hydrotherapy pool projects.
In 2023, Alex was promoted to Deputy Head of Design & Project Management.
Alex is well placed to make certain clients are guided clearly through the building process, from design to construction on site, and believes in a fair and reasonable approach in dealing with contractors, to ensure value for money and good building practice is achieved.
Alex advises on zero-rated works to limit VAT liability for disability related works upon each building project. Having worked in the building industry for many years, Alex has considerable knowledge of construction practices which has been invaluable throughout all departments of the business.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of your work?
Throughout my time with Steven Docker Associates I have very much enjoyed the experience in working with some dedicated specialist professionals who genuinely care about their clients and we at SDA share that vision. I have also had the pleasure of working closely with some real characters who, despite their injuries remain positive and determined to succeed and enjoy life the full.
What do you enjoy away from the office?
Alex enjoys spending time with my family and friends and supporting the mighty Liverpool FC. I also play the guitar (quite badly these days) but did enjoy playing and performing live music in my younger days.
