Louise Colohan
Head of Property Finding
Louise is an exceptionally proactive and creative property finding specialist, who applies her significant property market expertise and passion for helping make a positive change to people’s lives to her daily work. As Head of the Property Finding team at SDA, it is her mission to make the property finding process as pain-free as possible, enabling our clients and their supporting professionals to focus on their day-to-day.
About Louise Colohan
Before joining Steven Docker Associates in 2022, Louise was an exceptionally entrepreneurial branch manager at Countrywide, turning a poorly performing branch around by developing new pipelines, building internal and community relationships and rebuilding a team to create a highly productive branch. In July 2023, Louise was promoted to Head of Property Finding here at SDA.
Her experience of residential property, understanding home buyers’ needs and the sales and rental process is undoubtedly an invaluable asset to SDA, as is her passion for supporting the team around her and our clients.
Louise was raised and worked in Ireland before moving to England and while she has also had a notable career in wholesale product management in the constantly evolving beauty market, her degree in business management and career in property and leadership opened her eyes to the difference she could make to people’s lives. This inspired her to join SDA and focus on offering her expertise and boundless empathy and energy to support our clients.
Louise takes great personal pride in her own reputation and the reputation of those around her. She enjoys elevating our clients, our team, and the professionals we work with, throughout the process.
Louise’s role includes negotiating rental properties, to help find suitable interim homes for our clients while the litigation process continues or if they are looking for / adapting a new property or their current home. There are a number of nuances involved in this process and Louise’s organisational skills, understanding and negotiation expertise add exceptional value to this part of her role.
Her contacts and knowledge of the property market are also key for case managers and professionals who expect and need real-time updates on availability and market rates. Expectations are understandably high so Louise’s passion for great communication, honesty and pro-activeness is priceless.
Explaining her passion for working with Steven Docker Associates, Louise says:
“My brother has his own set of special needs and lives in a property similar to those SDA creates back in Ireland. I was shocked and delighted to find out my role even existed; for me it’s perfect as it blends two things I love: property and making people happy (I’m a people pleaser!).
“What SDA does – creating homes without boundaries and enabling people for life – is really important to me. It’s empowering for everyone involved and it’s wonderful to see the client at the heart of it all. I think people should be able to do what they want to do regardless of situation; I approach the things I love in my personal life in the same way. As a singing teacher, I start with empowering people over the technicality of the music. It’s incredibly rewarding to help give people strength, security and help them own the project as much as we can through SDA.
“The more professionals I meet through our projects, the more I realise SDA’s reputation precedes them; they have great trust for their workmanship within the industry. Their envied experience, hands-on and personable approach helps to quickly secure our clients’ trust in equal measure; the team alleviate the pressures that our clients and their professional teams are under and deliver, every time.”
Outside of work
I’ve been a singing teacher for many years, helping people find their voice. I am also a creative director for a busy touring company and have been performing and supporting productions from the age of 19. I love performing and singing but enabling people – to empower them to take their place on a stage – is just the best feeling. I love giving them the opportunity – and I love doing the same at work.
The best part of my day is when I can tell somebody that we have secured a contract or a property for them and that they can start to move. I get so excited when I can tell someone the good news. It makes an immediate and life-enabling difference.
